At Pinkerton Psychotherapy, we will explore your current patterns to find ways to bring joy back to your everyday life.

“Hurry up, we’re late!” You yell trying to get everyone out the door for school and yourself to work on schedule. Then time for pick-up, and the children are tired, moody and maybe a little disrespectful responding to “How was your day?” You spend your last bit of energy making dinner, and no one eats.

You’re ready to scream! If this scenario sounds like yesterday, you are not alone. I can help. We will explore your current patterns to find ways to bring joy back to your everyday life.

Children and teens have a range of experiences that leave them with complicated feelings. Daily traumas such as learning differences, playground politics, and porn exposure can have a big impact on one’s self-esteem. The emotional, physical, and sexual abuse inflicted on a child can lead to tremendous difficulties navigating through life.

During their time with me, I nurture their natural language of play. I facilitate age-appropriate modalities such as Play therapy, Autplay therapy, CBT-focused play, and Sandplay therapy. Releasing and processing events and emotions via play allows children to gain a healthy perception of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can recognize themselves as capable and whole human beings.

You are entirely unique; your therapy should be too! I take a humanistic approach when treating clients ranging from children to teens, and adults. Give me a call and start enjoying the little things in life again.
